Primary Responsibility - Management of the CoaX Operational Documentation

Brief Resume

1975 – 1978
Attended RAAF Academy, completed BSc, Grad DipMilAv

RAAF Pilot’s Course, Pt. Cook, Victoria and Pearce, WA.

1979 – 1984
Flew Iroquois Helicopters in a number of Squadrons and a variety of locations, including Peace Keeping in the Middle East (Sinai) and carrying out census flying in remote areas of PNG.

Roles during this period included:

Squadron Maintenance Test Pilot,
Gunship pilot,
Unit flying safety officer, and
Officer in Charge Search and Rescue Flight at RAAF Williamtown.

Completed RAAF Flying Instructor’s Course and initially instructed at RAAF Base Pearce WA, on Macchi MB 326H aircraft.

Roles included:
Deputy Flight Commander,
Helicopter Aerodynamics Lecturer,
Instrument Rating Examiner, and
Flight Programming Co-ordinator.

At the end of 1987 completed Qualified Helicopter Instructor and instructed at RAAF Base Fairbairn on Squirrel Helicopters.

1988 – present

Continued a flying career flying for major Australasian commercial airlines. This has included being a Captain on B747 and A330 aircraft.

Roles over this time have included:

Check and Training Captain,
Senior Audit position in LOSA audit program at present airline, and
Founding member of the Junior Pilot Mentoring program at the same airline.

Over this time I have obtained a Certificate in Financial Markets and in partnership with my wife have built a successful Child Care business, including designing and building one from inception in a large office building as it was being constructed.

Current Areas of Responsibility at CoaX Helicopters

Management of Documentation systems.
Creation of all Flight manuals, Instructional manuals, Assembly and Construction Maintenance manuals, Administrative manuals, Risk Management documentation.
Assistance with Flight Test Program.
Assistance with SolidWorks Project.

Life’s Little Challenges

Proving the Head Master at St Patrick’s College Ballarat wrong when he declared “John will never amount to anything”.
Founding and managing a whole AFL junior league in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Why I came to Coax

Helicopters are my first love and it is great to be associated with whirring rotors and levitation once again!
I am proud and feel honoured to be with a company that is so forward looking, professional and with such exciting prospects.
